Liftking Round Slings 15,000kg

Liftking 15,000kg Endless Round Sling, 6m to 10m EWL

The Liftking 15,000kg / 15 tonne endless round sling is a very high capacity polyester lifting sling designed for demanding heavy lift, crane and rigging applications. With a 15,000kg working load limit and 7:1 factor of safety, it is suited to specialist lifting contractors, offshore operators, heavy engineering teams and civil engineering projects.

This 15 tonne round sling is manufactured from 100% polyester and colour coded orange for quick WLL identification on site. The soft protective sleeve helps reduce load marking and provides a more flexible alternative to chain or wire rope in many heavy lifting applications. Each sling is manufactured to EN1492-2:2000, certified to TUV and GS standard, and supplied with a certificate of conformity.

Common Uses for a 15 Tonne Round Sling

This 15,000kg endless round sling is suitable for large machinery movement, heavy structural steel, major fabricated assemblies, crane operations, offshore equipment and specialist rigging projects. It is designed for applications where a high working load limit is required alongside flexibility and load surface protection.

Typical applications include heavy plant lifting, large industrial installations, civil engineering works, crane-handled machinery and major steel fabrication handling. Heavy lifting operations should always be planned by competent personnel and carried out using the correct lifting equipment and protection.

How to Measure an Endless Round Sling

Endless round slings are measured by their Effective Working Length, also known as EWL. This is the usable length of the sling when it is laid flat and measured from one end to the other, as shown in the diagram.

Effective working length diagram for endless round sling

The full circumference of an endless round sling is approximately double the EWL. For example, a 2m EWL round sling has an approximate full circumference of 4m.

When choosing the correct length, consider the size and shape of the load, the lifting points, the hook size, the hitch type and the required lifting angle. The sling should sit correctly around the load without being twisted, bunched or forced over sharp edges.

Always select the correct EWL for the lifting method being used and refer to the sling label, lift plan and load chart before use.

Lifting Hitches and Capacity Guidance

Straight Lift

Suitable for vertical lifting up to the rated WLL shown on the sling label.

Basket Hitch

Can be used for properly supported lifts where the load is balanced and the sling angle is suitable.

Choke Hitch

Can reduce the effective working load limit. Always refer to the sling label, hitch factor and lifting plan before use.

LOLER Inspection and Safe Use

As a lifting accessory, this round sling should be thoroughly examined by a competent person every 6 months under LOLER, unless a written scheme of examination specifies otherwise. A pre-use visual inspection should also be carried out before every lift.

Check for cuts, tears, abrasion, damaged stitching, chemical contamination, heat damage, missing or illegible labels, exposed load-bearing fibres or any sign of overload. Do not use the sling on sharp edges or abrasive surfaces without suitable protection.
