Liftking Round Slings 1,000kg
Liftking 1,000kg Endless Round Sling, 0.5m to 6m EWL
The Liftking 1,000kg / 1 tonne endless round sling is a lightweight polyester lifting sling designed for general maintenance, workshop handling, light industrial lifting and delicate load movement. With a 1,000kg working load limit and 7:1 factor of safety, it offers a soft, flexible alternative to chain, wire rope and flat webbing slings.
Manufactured from 100% polyester, this 1 tonne round sling has a protective tubular sleeve surrounding the load-bearing core. The purple colour coding allows quick WLL identification on site, while the endless design provides excellent flexibility when positioning the sling around the load. Each sling is manufactured to EN1492-2:2000, certified to TUV and GS standard, and supplied with a certificate of conformity.
Common Uses for a 1 Tonne Round Sling
This 1,000kg endless round sling is well suited to workshops, maintenance departments, garages, light engineering, plant maintenance and general low capacity lifting. It is a popular choice where a soft lifting sling is required to help reduce the risk of marking or damaging the load surface.
Typical applications include lifting small machinery, workshop equipment, fabricated components, maintenance parts and loads with finished or painted surfaces. The round sling design makes it easy to handle, simple to store and quick to position during everyday lifting tasks.
How to Measure an Endless Round Sling
Endless round slings are measured by their Effective Working Length, also known as EWL. This is the usable length of the sling when it is laid flat and measured from one end to the other, as shown in the diagram.

The full circumference of an endless round sling is approximately double the EWL. For example, a 2m EWL round sling has an approximate full circumference of 4m.
When choosing the correct length, consider the size and shape of the load, the lifting points, the hook size, the hitch type and the required lifting angle. The sling should sit correctly around the load without being twisted, bunched or forced over sharp edges.
Always select the correct EWL for the lifting method being used and refer to the sling label, lift plan and load chart before use.
Lifting Hitches and Capacity Guidance
Straight Lift
Suitable for vertical lifting up to the rated WLL shown on the sling label.
Basket Hitch
Can be used where the load is correctly supported and balanced. Always refer to the sling label and load chart before lifting.
Choke Hitch
Can reduce the effective lifting capacity. Always check the sling label, hitch factor and lifting plan before use.
LOLER Inspection and Safe Use
Under LOLER, lifting accessories such as round slings should be thoroughly examined by a competent person every 6 months, unless a written examination scheme specifies a different interval. A pre-use visual inspection should also be carried out before every lift.
Check the sling for cuts, tears, abrasion, damaged stitching, heat damage, chemical contamination, exposed load-bearing fibres, illegible labels or any signs of deterioration. Do not use the sling if the label is missing or unreadable, if the sling has been overloaded, or if there is visible damage. Use suitable edge protection when lifting loads with sharp corners or abrasive surfaces.
